The Student Government Mission

The mission of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to provide FSU students with representation, services, and advocacy within the university structure. The SGA provides quality leadership for, and accountability to, its constituency by recognizing that strength arises from diversity, engagement, and dialogue.

 


SGA SPOTLIGHT


Caleb Dawkins

Caleb is from Orlando, Florida
double majoring in Political Science
and Advertising. He began his
collegiate career as a member of the
Center for Academic Retention and
Enhancement (CARE), FSU’s
summer bridge program for firstgeneration
students. Caleb has been
involved with the Student
Government Association, the Black
Student Union, the Service Scholars
Program, the Student Foundation,
Beta Theta Pi, and served as a 2018
Orientation Leader. In his
sophomore year, Caleb participated
in the Undergraduate Research
Opportunity Program (UROP),
where he explored themes of Black
Masculinity in the Media by
examining Social Media Users
Reactions to the movie “Moonlight”.
He also serves as a Community
Ambassador for Boys Town North
Florida, an agency that works with
fostered youth. His research, various
involvements, and community
service all inspire him to look into a
way to develop an initiative focusing
on student success in low-income
